Job Summary
QA Inspector role within the Injection Molding department, directly monitoring, inspecting, and auditing process and product compliance to specifications, assuring integrity of process control systems, and detecting product quality trends. This is a coverage assignment for an employee on leave (expected to exceed 6 months), so a 1-year contract is anticipated. Reports directly to the Quality Engineer. Work schedule: 12-hour night shift, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, rotating 3-2-2-3 schedule (including weekends). Area is climate controlled. Drug screening not required; eye exam required. Background check required (candidate can start once criminal background check clears). Steel toe or composite shoes required. Smoke-free campus; no false eyelashes, press-on nails, or jewelry (including visible dermals) allowed on production floor.
Roles & Responsibilities

Perform various testing procedures and simple statistical analysis

Perform complete inspection of product prior to release according to applicable specifications within assigned Business Unit

Apply appropriate statistical sampling plans

Stat sample or contain all hold products per specification requirements

Record inspection and audit results on appropriate forms and/or in the Quality Module of SAP

Report product non-conformance issues to Quality and Production Management as appropriate

Maintain adherence to all safety, environmental, and quality system standards

Follow all site-required safety and quality policies

Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by Quality Management or designate
Experience

6 months of QA experience or exposure
Key Skills

Testing procedures and statistical analysis

Use of measurement devices (calipers, go/no-go gauges, optical comparators, digital force gauges, rules)

Computer navigation in a Windows-based environment

SAP Quality Module (or willingness to learn)

Attention to detail and quality compliance
Eligibility & Qualifications

High school diploma required (for those hired after 01-Jun-2000; internal transfers exempted)

Ability to pass proficiency assessment on measurement device usage

No supervisory responsibilities

Steel toe, non-slip shoes required

Must clear criminal background check before starting
