Job Description:
- Performs physical and/or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfilment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
- Responsible for cycle counting activities.
- Packages and prepares products and merchandise for final shipment.
- Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
- Uses judgement requiring location and storage of items, proper packing, methods of movement of materials and release of materials.
- Ability to work independently as required.
- May receive general supervision with little instruction on routine work.
- Uses a variety of mobile equipment such as forklifts, walkie-stackers, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies and finished products or goods within the plant and warehouse.
- Performs administrative and physical tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing, staging and supplying materials (raw, work-in-process and finished goods), parts and supplies, to operators, workstations and distribution centre
- Additionally, hand load carts/racks equipment and deliver to production areas
- Uses hand/or electric trucks including Forklifts, and Slip Sheeting truck and other motorized vehicles requiring licenses
- May prepare goods for shipment to the distribution center (Dumping of halbs)
- Effectively works in a team setting, supporting team goals and objectives
- Makes effective decisions relative to position requirements
- Must be knowledgeable about the continuous inventory process
- Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Must follow all client housekeeping policies and procedures
- Must follow all client safety policies and procedures
- Must be able to work overtime as required to meet client business requirements
- Perform other duties as required
Knowledge/Skills:
- Reading, writing and basic math skills
- Ability to safely operate all required equipment
- Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills - navigation in a windows environment, familiarity with Microsoft office tools preferred
- Continuous attention to detail operations requires some diversification in approach to fairly routine processes
- Lifting or moving of 5 – 25 lbs. continuously, 25 – 60 lbs. frequently using appropriate equipment.
- Must be capable of handling all assigned duties required by use of all equipment (i.e. Pallet jacks, Slip Sheet truck and Forklift).
- Must have excellent teaming and communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a repetitive work environment and be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be capable of passing the physical examination for forklift operations and respirator fit test.
Requirement:
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- 3yrs of manufacturing or warehouse experience required
- Must be able to pass client physical, written forklift test and perform satisfactory driving test on all equipment (Forklifts Truck) and respirator fit test.
- Familiar with all Warehousing operations, but must be fully knowledgeable in assigned work areas
