Job Description:

  • Summer internship for engineering student pursuing a degree in engineering (preferably in civil engineering, industrial engineering, or similar field) with AutoCAD Autodesk experience.
  • The intern will work in a manufacturing environment with central engineering team to assist in updating plant drawing and assisting in safety, continuous improvement, and installation projects in the plant.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility will be to collect and manage information for the AutoCAD plant layout.
  • Other responsibilities may include:
  • Assistance and ownership in safety projects
  • Engaging in Continuous Improvement (5S, Cost Savings, etc…)
  • Working with Draftsperson on projects
  • Planning for new equipment installation
  • Coordination with multiple departments
  • Assistance alongside technicians in machine design
  • Interpretation of multiple drawings to combine data and interpret information
  • Preparing and presenting project updates to Senior Engineering Staff and/or Management
  • Possibly taking ownership on part of an engineering project.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Pursuing Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from a recognized, accredited university
  • Experience to feel proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD drafting and modeling techniques
  • Preferred knowledge in AutoCAD Electrical
  • Preferred advanced coursework taken in AutoCAD
  • Ability to take on multiple tasks: prioritization and working on multiple projects
  • Willingness to learn, self-motivated, proactive, and having demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to relocate/work in the facility for the internship period of time
  • Desire to make an impact in the medical device industry
  • Prior related work experience is desired but not required
