As a Staff Systems Engineer in our Medication Management Solutions (MMS) team, you will use your broad technical expertise, leadership skills, and knowledge to represent the R&D organization as the technical leader for product development projects. You will guide the development of the products, translate the voice of customer and partner needs into system and product requirements, identify potential hazards and assess requirements to ensure product compliance to safety and regulatory standards, and drive technical excellence within the projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead technical excellence and ensure highest standards are being maintained and delivered through cross-functional collaboration with internal and external engineering organization.
• Driving continuous improvement within the Systems Engineering function.
• Drive product design architecture definition and proactively identify technical risks and mitigation pathways.
• Aid our cross-functional engineering teams in developing design and process specifications for new hardware and software products.
• Identify and prioritize tasks/resources, and mentor our junior associates to ensure that critical project milestones are met and systems integration activities are identified and fulfilled.
• Lead system/product-level feasibility and risk assessments and coordinate system-level product development and integration.
• Ensuring cross functional teams are aligned in technical scope, direction and understanding and resolution of issues during product development.
• Apply and assert DFSS best practices on all projects
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering required. Graduate degree is preferred.
• At least 8 years of related work experience or a combination of work experience and advanced degrees required.
• Strong technical background with experience in Systems Engineering including Requirements Management, Hazards Analysis, System Architectural Development, Functional Modeling, Systems Integration, Statistical Test Design, Verification and Validation, Reliability Engineering, and Failure Modes Effects Analysis.
• Experience with electromechanical devices with wireless connectivity is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with DFSS, Critical Parameter Management tools.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Proven knowledge of advanced system-level technology. Experience in making architectural decisions in either products or platforms is a bonus.’
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to lead multi-discipline engineering teams. Experience mentoring junior associates a plus.
• Excellent communication skills with all levels with internal stakeholders and external partners. Strong writing skills.
• Experience working within an agile environment a plus.
