Job Summary

Denver Milk Plant is seeking 3 Maintenance Technicians to ensure operation of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment through preventive maintenance. Shift: Primarily 3rd shift (10:00 PM–6:30 AM), with potential for 2nd shift (2:00 PM–10:30 PM). This is a unionized facility where seniority drives shift assignments and scheduling; candidates must be flexible for work days, including Saturday or Sunday availability. Possibility of extension; conversion to full-time depends on worker performance. Candidate must join the onsite union if converted to full-time.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensure operation of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment through preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines
  • Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions; locate problem sources by observing mechanical devices in operation
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hand/power tools; examine form and texture of parts
  • Determine dimensional requirement changes by inspecting used parts with rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments; control downtime by informing production workers of PM techniques and monitoring compliance
  • Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories; check stock levels and anticipate needs
  • Provide PMs on electrical/mechanical equipment; complete maintenance paperwork daily
  • Prepare daily equipment setup
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment per procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Comply with GMP and other regulatory requirements, company/site policies; perform LOTO as required
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience; food manufacturing equipment experience ideal
  • Experience starting/stopping and adjusting production machinery
  • Previous forklift or powered equipment experience – preferred, not required
  • Prior maintenance experience in a high-speed manufacturing plant – preferred

Key Skills

  • Mechanical/electrical troubleshooting
  • Strong math skills
  • Reading and understanding prints
  • Basic working knowledge of PLCs
  • Basic welding/machining/fabrication ability
  • Use of basic shop and power tools
  • Accurate documentation of process forms, equipment downtime, and work orders
  • Ammonia and boiler knowledge – preferred, not required

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs on a repetitive basis
  • Ability to work in noisy environments
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs
  • Understanding of Preventative Maintenance (PM) practices and ability to follow instructions
