Position : Manufacturing Lab Technician
Location : Sparks, MD
Duration : 12 Months Contract
Start Time : 6:00 AM
End Time : 6:00 PM
Total Hours/week :40.00
pay range -$16-20/hr
Hours: Weekends Friday - Sunday 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM
Description:
- Responsible for manufacturing and assembling clinical and commercial products.
- Operates production equipment. Weighs, measures and checks raw materials to ensure batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities.
- Assists with in-process testing to ensure batches meet specifications.
- Responsible for validating processes and equipment that are directly related to filtration, cleaning and sterilization.
- Responsible for the removal and disposal of waste chemicals, solvents and acids. Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves complex issues associated with scientific operations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Responsible for manufacturing and assembling clinical and commercial products. Operates production equipment.

- Assists with in-process testing to ensure batches meet specifications.
- Responsible for validating processes and equipment that are directly related to filtration, cleaning and sterilization. Responsible for the removal and disposal of waste chemicals, solvents and acids.
- Creates solutions, powders, and liquids for batches to meet specifications
- Provides training support for on-boarding and/or new procedures
- Provides support to the lead/supervisor when necessary
- Provides continuous improvement recommendations and/or solutions to support overall operational efficiency
- Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Must follow all BD housekeeping policies and procedures
- Must follow all BD safety policies and procedures
- Must be able to work overtime as required to meet BD business requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum Education/Experience:
- High school with technical certification in the area of laboratory operations plus 3 years laboratory experience, AS degree in a scientific discipline with 2-3 years laboratory experience, or BS degree in a scientific discipline plus 1-2 years laboratory experience
Basic Skills:
- Ability to demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills
- Must be detail-oriented
- Strong time management skills required
- Ability to operate independently
- Proficient/Working Skills:
- Must be proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic
