Qualifications:
- We are looking for a motivated Associate Scientist to join our company for a contract position.
- The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of professional experience with the following: ·
- Capable of creating and preparing culture media in a GLP/GMP environment ·
- Trained in working with bacterial cultures ·
- Skilled in the use of aseptic technique ·
- Capable of evaluating test results and drawing conclusions ·
- Efficient use of scales, balances and pH meters ·
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years in a professional biotech environment, although education and academic experience may be substituted.
- B.S. in Microbiology or a related Life Science is preferred but not required.
- Associate Scientist is responsible for producing lab scale pilots of prepared and dehydrated media and sterilizing biohazard wastes.
- Accurately and consistently prepares plated and tubed media pilots as well as stocked media for testing by laboratory personnel.
- This testing involves the precise weighing of individual ingredients, physical preparation of materials as well as in-process checks (pH, autoclaving and dispensing into final form.
