The Maintenance Mechanic will perform general facility maintenance and repair duties for the Florida Department of Health in Pensacola. The position covers building, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, renovation, grounds, furniture, equipment, and vehicle maintenance. The role requires practical maintenance experience, basic computer skills, and a valid driver's license.
Job Summary
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance across indoor and outdoor facilities.
- Support building repairs, renovations, equipment maintenance, and grounds upkeep.
- Handle basic plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and vehicle maintenance activities.
- Assist with furniture relocation and general facility support.
- Use hand tools and computer applications as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and functional work environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance and repairs.
- Complete plumbing maintenance and repairs, including changing fixtures and addressing blocked toilets.
- Perform HVAC maintenance, including changing filters and flushing lines.
- Handle basic electrical maintenance, such as changing switches and bulbs and troubleshooting issues.
- Assist with renovations, including patching holes, caulking, and painting.
- Relocate furniture and equipment as needed.
- Perform equipment maintenance and repair.
- Conduct vehicle maintenance, including checking fluids, washing vehicles, and maintaining proper tire pressure.
- Maintain outdoor grounds using appropriate lawn-care equipment.
- Perform cleaning and general facility upkeep, including washing windows, sweeping, mopping, and removing trash.
- Use ladders, trimmers, mowers, and other grounds-maintenance equipment as required.
Experience
- 1 year of experience in general building maintenance and repair.
- 1 year of experience performing plumbing maintenance and repairs.
- 1 year of HVAC maintenance and repair experience.
- 1 year of electrical maintenance and repair experience.
- 1 year of renovation and facility-improvement experience.
- 1 year of experience using general lawn and grounds-maintenance equipment.
- 1 year of vehicle maintenance experience.
- Experience using computers and Microsoft applications.
