Job Description:
- The position is accountable for ensuring material availability, and the achievement of business value and inventory targets. The position works in a team environment to manage tactical procurement activities with a broad supply base. The position interfaces with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Sourcing Teams on materials issues and strategies.
Principal Accountabilities
- Requisition & PO Processing for all direct POs – handles inquiries, manages updates/changes, confirmation follow ups, manages return and disposition (MRB) process with suppliers, and supports invoice reconciliation for orders placed.
- Creates or reviews production work orders and generates material orders for intercompany and external suppliers to support MRP output and plant purchase requisition requirements.
- Acquires and provides current material status to Manufacturing Teams on an as needed basis. Provides input on any supplier risk signals noted in day to day activity.
- Provide input into Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Quality Notifications (QNs), as well as able to generate them as needed to support uninterrupted material supply.
- Responsible for planning and procurement master data, including the Procurement Info record and Source List for materials.
- Jointly accountable to meet local budget targets.
- Manages volume changes and provides input to monthly PPV reports. Able to provide input to PPV forecast.
- Manages raw materials for GPDS new products once assigned on a Bill of Material.
- Investigates and recommends implementation of appropriate advanced materials strategies such as Point of Use, Kanban, VMI, etc.
- Responsibilities may also include Supply/Production Planning activities as it relates to the conversion of a rough cut capacity Master Production Schedule into a detailed production plan, creation/release of production orders and maintaining MRP planning parameters.
Knowledge and Experience Required
- BS Degree in a related field with a minimum of two years’ experience
- Working knowledge of MRP and SAP or equivalent ERP system
- ISM and/or APICS Certification desired
- Basic knowledge of processes associated with the production items to be supported
- Understands basic manufacturing concepts
- PC skills
- Application of basic statistics
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Understands basic quality concepts
- Understands company ethics and proprietary information requirements.
