Job Summary
Legal Support Resource needed to provide legal, communication, organizational, and decision-making support to the Legal Department, managing multiple projects with competing deadlines in a self-motivated capacity.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing responses to foreclosure actions, bankruptcy actions, and other legal process responses
- Track status of foreclosure cases and Sheriff's sales involving IHCDA
- Prepare legal documents such as contracts, mortgage/lien releases, reports, budgets, and internal communications
- Sort, analyze, and distribute mail within the legal department
- Assist Legal Counsel with word processing, filing, and document transmittal services
- Transmit legal correspondence to clients, customers, outside counsel, and court officials via e-filing, mail, fax, or messenger
- Manage special projects, including tracking progress, coordinating meetings, and maintaining organized case files
- Review and update the SharePoint contracts database
- Perform records and legal research, check legal forms for accuracy, and prepare/draft contracts and amendments
- Perform other tasks as needed and assigned
Experience
- 2+ years in a law firm, government legal department, corporate legal department, or equivalent setting with exposure to legal terms/procedures
- 2+ years in the same position/employer

Eligibility & Qualifications
- 2- or 4-year relevant educational degree (e.g., Paralegal degree or certificate)
