Job Description:

  • This position is responsible for the manufacture of materials used for medical diagnostic test devices.
  • The candidate will be responsible for operation and maintenance of reel-to-reel web handling platforms, which are used to treat various membranes with antibody solutions.
  • These membranes are later processed to create lateral flow devices.
  • The candidate must possess basic computer skills.
  • He/she must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, highly diverse, team oriented, work environment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learn and understand: Basic reel-to-reel processes, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Forms, etc.
  • Execute processes according to written SOPs, record process data in batch record.
  • Loading and unloading of treated and untreated membrane reels.
  • Handling of antibody solutions.
  • Machine setup and configuration.
  • Monitoring ongoing production runs.
  • Meet daily/weekly departmental production objectives efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to follow general instructions on routine tasks and detailed instructions on new tasks.
  • Support LDMS and daily shift start up meetings.
  • Ability to lift 20-30 pounds unassisted.
  • Follow all department guidelines and procedures.
  • Follows client Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures.
  • Takes responsibility for safety in immediate work area. Participates in EH&S programs.
  • Notifies supervisors of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices.
  • May provide recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate for position within production.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge and skills:

  • Good organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks
  • Self-motivated, must have ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient learner with new tasks and methods.
  • Attention to Detail.

 

Education and Experience:

Minimum requirements for this position include:

  • Associate degree and/or relevant technical training
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Fundamental computer skills
  • Perform basic math calculations
  • 1-year relevant experience required
  • Stable employment and/or education within the last 3-5 years.
  • Some laboratory and/or pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing experience preferred.
