Job Description:

• Label Design and User Information Development

• The Translation Proofer is responsible for proofing the English and translated labeling (e.g., product labels, package inserts, users’ manuals, instructions for use) generated by the client Biosciences Label Design & User Information Development (LDUID) department.
• The Translation Proofer supports the IVDR translation and technical writing teams by ensuring that all labeling is accurate and meets the established requirements and departmental style guides.

Duties And Responsibilities:

• Performs proofreading tasks on English and multilingual labeling.
• Proofreads assigned materials for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and completeness.
• Ensures adherence to the departmental style guides and related material.
• Assists in flagging and correcting inconsistencies in terminology glossaries and translation memories.
• Collaborates with relevant stakeholders to resolve questions or conflicts related to terminology, language quality, and workflow.
• Follows project instructions and established processes.
• Keeps abreast of the basic requirements for compliance in own area of work and complies with those requirements.
• Performs other related duties and tasks, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have familiarity with non-English languages.
• Must have knowledge of typography, fonts, document formatting, and publication styles in English and other commercially relevant languages.
• Must have advanced functional knowledge of Adobe Acrobat commenting tools and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work under deadline pressure.
• Must be able to deal with unresolved situations, frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
• Must have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with excellent follow-up skills.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills, including effective written and oral communication ability.
• Healthcare industry background desirable.

Education And Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a translation- or language-related field, in labeling or publication field
• Minimum of two years’ experience in proofreading, editing or copy writing; or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
