The Manufacturing Technician 1 is expected to work independently, perform laboratory functions involved in EKD production. The person must have a demonstrated ability following standard operating procedures and work instructions. The person directly reports to the immediate supervisor, assists him/her with the day to day laboratory operations. The Technician is expected to be capable to perform goods movement through required databases, and archive quality documents. The person is responsible for making and testing ELISA plates and formulating recombinant protein to be lyophilized. This includes following batch records, SOP, or working instructions to make OPTEIA plates, Lyoplates, lyophilized recombinant standards and record in SAP system while complying with ISO standards. Additional duties include maintaining lab inventory, accurate data entry, and reviewing / scanning of batch records. The position is expected to be familiar with quality system & safety procedures and have basic knowledge of computer software. The position is expected to finish assignments on time to help keep up the team productivity. In addition, the position is responsible for completing the assigned IIGs annually.

Education:

Minimum requirements for this position include a high school diploma

Work Experience:

Typically requires 0-2 years experience in a Biotech/Science manufacturing lab environment. Have some working knowledge in the science disciplines and operation of lab equipment.

Responsibilities:
1. Make ELISA plates or recombinant proteins by following SOPs/Working instructions and batch records thoroughly.
2. Scan all batch records independently.
3. Operate lyophilizer for all lyophilization processes.
4. Promote a safe working environment. Follow BD environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures. Take responsibility for safety in immediate work area. Participate in EH&S programs. Notify supervisor of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices.
5. Perform duties as assigned by supervisor and trainer, following their instructions.
