Title: Sr. Scientist, Systems Validation (Flow Cytometrist)

Location: San Jose, CA

Contract Term: 6+ Months

Weekly 40.00 hours

BD Biosciences is seeking a flow cytometrist who can bring experience of flow cytometry sorting to test prototype sorters.

A PhD is desired but not required.

No experience with validation testing needed

3 tops skills must have:

1.      Flow Cytometry experience

2.      Sorting exp.

3.      Troubleshooting exp.

4.      Analyzer exp. not so important, not just an operator, but troubleshooter as to why.

Duties include:

·         Authoring test plans, protocols, reports

·         Executing testing following defined quality processes

·         Collaborating with engineers, scientists, and outside vendors to ensure adequate test coverage and address defects

·         Exercising independent judgment and apply solution thinking, problem solving, and troubleshooting

·         Communicating quickly regarding system defects and working actively towards resolutions

Minimum Qualifications:

·         B.S. in Immunology, Cell Biology, or related discipline

·         5 years’ experience in general flow cytometry

·         2 years’ experience in sorting flow cytometry

·         Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting flow cytometers

·         Experience with sample prep and experiment design for multi-parameter flow cytometry applications

Desired Qualifications:

·         MS or PhD degree in Immunology, Cell Biology or in a related discipline

·         Experience in flow core lab facility

·         Familiar with GLP and/or medical device product development
